When I started dreaming about what I wanted our home to look like, I knew I wanted to incorporate both new and old. I love the character and wear of a vintage, hand-knotted Turkish rug and found a handful of places that sold beautiful options in a wide variety of price ranges.
The area rug I purchased for the living room is a 10×13 from this Ebay shop. This shop has a ton of great, affordable options if you’re looking for vintage on a budget. I got mine for $813, which is a TOTAL steal for the size and condition. It came a few weeks ago and I’m so happy with it! The whole first floor is currently getting a fresh coat of paint, so I’ll have better pictures of the rug when we’re finally able to do the living room install.
I’m still looking for a few smaller vintage rugs for the bathrooms, kitchen, and maybe an extra long runner for the stairs once we decide to tackle that project. I prefer the ones that have a little wear and uneven-ness to the color. The more distressed the better. And I always make sure before purchasing on Ebay or Etsy that the seller has good ratings and that the reviews are generally positive.
Here’s a list of where I’ve found some of the best vintage rugs:
The Vintage Rug Shop
The Southern Loom
Frances Loom
Lulu and Georgia
One Kings Lane
Ebay
Etsy
And a few rugs that I’m loving:
