Vintage art under $400 | Rachael Zarda
One of my favorite idle past times as I’m watching a show in the evening or sitting passenger in the car is to look through Ebay or Etsy for vintage home items. Art is such a fun thing to look for, but can be difficult if you’ve never done it before. You have to try a variety of search terms. Sometimes it helps to have a specific subject matter, orientation, or type of framing in mind, but I find that the best pieces surprise you when you are looking for nothing in particular.

I discovered this landscape oil painting while browsing Live Auctioneers, one of my favorite apps for antiques. I didn’t have an exact spot in mind, but knew I had to bid on it. It was such a steal, and I happily moved it from room to room for weeks trying to find the perfect wall. After painting our main bedroom French Gray by Farrow and Ball, I knew instantly the painting would look best there.

The trick to finding great affordable vintage art online is to just keep scrolling. The best pieces are often hiding on page 52. You can score some really great deals on unique artwork simply by putting in the time and effort to dig.

I may do a full post on search terms, but you can start simple and broad with terms like “landscape oil painting” or “still life painting” and narrow your search with filters for your preferred price, size etc.

Here are some current favorite paintings I’ve found recently. Hope you find something you love. xx
