I’ve always loved the way moss looks inside a rustic, concrete planter as decor on a coffee or dining table (see here). Adding in some green can bring a lot of life to a room. Even better when the greenery is low or no maintenance. I bought this concrete bowl a while back for our coffee table and after living with it a few weeks it felt too empty and uninteresting.
I’m not one for DIY’s, but this turned out looking nothing like a craft project. I shared a quick tutorial on Instagram stories last week, but wanted to have it here to reference. I searched for a while trying to find the right planter and wound up using this one, but I rounded up a handful of others that I thought were equally as beautiful and perfect for the occasion!
Here’s what you need:
Concrete planter
Packing paper (or newspaper, whatever you have on hand)
Glue gun and glue sticks
Preserved sheet moss
Instructions:
1. Crumple a few pieces of packing paper into your bowl until you get your desired height.
2. Tear the sheet moss into large pieces and place them around the top of the bowl until paper is covered completely.
3. With your glue gun in hand, lift the pieces of moss and lightly glue the moss onto the paper and neighboring pieces of moss.
