In this season of life, I get most excited about collecting pieces for my home. Isn’t it so true that we seem to gift whatever we’d personally want? This year it’s been fun for me to pick out gifts that can be used to create a mood or memory for whomever is on the receiving end, too. A favorite cookbook or candle will make that person think of you each time they make a dish for their family or light the candle before sitting down with a glass of wine in the evening.
One idea that I love because it’s both classic and personalized is a set of frames with photos inside that you know they’ll love. I get my photos printed at Mpix. It’s super easy, and the quality and price point are both great. If you’re more into someone doing the framing for you, Framebridge is also a nice option.
Bar cart and home decor items are always easy in my book, especially for those you aren’t extremely close to (like your boyfriend’s mom, brother’s new girlfriend etc.). Something beautiful and functional like a cork screw/bottle opener, paired with a bottle of their favorite wine is perfect for anyone (over the age of 21, obviously).
If you know the person fairly well, giving them a beautiful piece of artwork feels extra special. If they love to cook, a pasta maker or dutch oven are both special gifts that will keep on giving for years. When all else fails, you can’t go wrong with a cozy throw that will compliment their home.
