Main bedroom refresh

Bedroom refresh | Rachael Zarda
Since moving into our house, I’ve focused my time and energy on making the public spaces (i.e. living room, dining room etc.) feel like us. Our bedroom has taken a backseat–we were sleeping on Zach’s old, rustic wood bed and queen mattress and it was accompanied by an assortment of random furniture we’d both collected over the years. In short, it was NOT sparking joy.

When we found out we were expecting baby number two, I knew it was time for our bedroom to get a refresh. I spent a lot of time in our bedroom with Gemma as a new mom, nursing, pumping, and holding her as she napped. I just knew it would be such a game changer to have a space that felt like a warm hug during that exhausting and special time period this next time around.

We upgraded our bed to the Schuyler slipcover bed from One King’s Lane and the mushroom color is so lovely against the Farrow and Ball French Gray walls. Our mattress is the Helix Luxe Midnight mattress and I am obsessed with it. I ordered these pillows from Amazon and sleep with two–they’re so soft and you melt right into them.

I did a lot of research on sheets and duvets and ultimately ended up loving everything about The Company Store’s offerings. We have the percale sheets, down alternative duvet insert, sateen duvet cover, and cooling mattress protector. Getting into bed feels like such a luxury now. Full five-star hotel vibes.

Still on the hunt for the perfect pair of bedside tables, maybe vintage? A rug, drapes, and general decor like art and lighting are still in the works as well. Hoping to have everything wrapped up by the time baby comes in April–stay tuned. xx
