Something about the crisp, cooler air of autumn makes me crave a moodier, layered, live-in look in our house. I’m not one to decorate for Halloween (although that may change soon with two kids), but I do like adding hints of the season to our main living spaces. This year I’m craving chocolate browns, creamy whites, and deep reds at home and in my closet.
There’s something so traditional and comforting about fall colors and textures. Layering pillows, blankets, and lots of different lighting create a warm and inviting space to settle into for the colder evenings. I love a seasonal wreath for the front door–this maple leaf wreath is such a stunner! Swapping some seasonal faux branches in your vases, deeper colored tapers in your candle holders and patterned pillows to the mix are easy ways to quickly change the mood of the room. I always swap my candles–love a deeper scent in the fall and usually gravitate toward something woodsy and more masculine.
My favorite days are ones that include soup on the stove, lit candles, dimmed lamp light, and a seasonal must-watch like You’ve Got Mail. xx
