I spent some serious quality time with Seth Cohen and Summer Roberts this weekend. The O.C. is now on Hulu and I can’t get enough of the dramatic party exits, relationship woes, and high school nostalgia in all it’s Califorrrrniaa glory (that theme song gets me every time). A lot of the styling on the show is certainly cringe-worthy, but it’s not crazy to say that the then popular trends are making their way back into our lives today.
The denim jacket is a particular blast-from-the-past item I’ve stayed away from until now. I found this one a few weeks back and hesitantly tried it on with this top in mind because it’s such a weird color to pair with anything but I LOVE IT. And so denim jacket phase two begins. Kansas City weather is perplexing this time of year. 70 degrees one day and 40 the next. So a solid collection of light outerwear is a must. It’s so versatile, it’s already become a spring staple – I’m sold! Let’s all just agree that the midriff-bearing, barely-there halters of O.C. past aren’t going to happen again, okay?
