Vanilla Coffee Scrub

Happy Columbus Day! With the weather being 100% perfect and the Royals playing their fourth ALDS game (I just pretend to know what I’m talking about when it comes to baseball, don’t be fooled), the city is buzzing with good energy today.

I’ve been meaning to share this scrub with you for a while now. I try to use homemade solutions whenever I can for several reasons. One being that I’ve always had sensitive skin and weird ingredients make my body do wonky things, so the more natural the better! And second, why are beauty products so stupid expensive?

I always thought I’d be strong enough to resist Sephora, but as I get older and my body/skin changes I find myself deviating from my normal routine and experimenting with more products. I realized last week I’ve curated quite the random collection of them.

It makes me especially happy to know what ingredients are in the products I’m putting all over my skin. The combination of the ingredients in this scrub is magic and you probably already have most of them in your cabinet! This scrub smells SO GOOD you guys, and it leaves your skin feeling silky smooth.

Having company this fall? Place a small container of the coffee scrub with a bottle of lotion and fresh towels in the bathroom as a thoughtful welcome gift. Or divide the mixture into smaller portions and give them to all of the gals in your life if you’re hosting them at your house for a wine night soon!

But make sure to make enough to enjoy yourself, too. It will last a few months in an air-tight container.

VANILLA COFFEE SCRUB

Ingredients
1/2 cup ground coffee
1/2 cup coconut palm sugar
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract

Mix all the ingredients together and stir until combined. Store the mixture in an airtight container. To apply, gently massage the scrub onto your body in the shower and rinse it off.
