Move-In Worthy Movie Interiors

I came across an article on Houzz yesterday about the movie The Intern and Nancy Meyer’s iconic set designs. She’s created the homes we all know and love like the cozy cottage in The Holiday, the Hampton’s beach house in Something’s Gotta Give, and I have to say, that kitchen from The Intern does not disappoint. To really capture the personality of a character and the essence of a film through the set design is true talent in my book.

It got me thinking about the most memorable movie and television interiors, the ones that make me want to hop through my screen and never leave. Here’s my list:

Meg Ryan’s Spanish-style bungalow in Hanging Up. That house was straight out of a Pottery Barn ad. And the way it was transformed during fall, with the cornstalks and pumpkins. Epic. It’s always been one of my favorites.

Mandy Moore’s eclectic and fun home in Because I Said So. The eccentricities of the family dynamic are captured so perfectly in the characters’ homes.

And last but most definitely not least, Sally Field’s Pasadena home in Brothers and Sisters. I’d gladly become a Walker for dinner parties on the string lit patio and late night ice cream parties in that kitchen. SWOON.

So what do you think? Do you have any favorites?

UPDATE: You can shop the entire set over at One Kings Lane.
