March Notes

March is such a sweet month. It’s typically the time of year the weather starts changing and we start to see signs of spring (although this year is proving to be different). It’s also my birthday month! I thrive in seasons of change and feel so inspired by the new possibilities another year promises. Looking forward to fresh flowers around the home, more time outside, trying new workouts and recipes this month.

Watching: I recently just finished the series Vanity Fair on Amazon Prime. If you enjoyed Downton Abbey, I think you’ll like Vanity Fair. It’s light, witty, indulgent, and reminds me a little of Sophia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette.

Reading: I finally started The Nightingale (it’s been sitting on my nightstand for over a year). I’m already so captivated by it. I’ve been much more mindful lately of putting my phone away and focusing 100% of my mind and efforts on one thing. I swear, reading before bed has made me sleep more soundly and has been a nice release when I’d normally be thinking about what I should be doing for the following day.

Sweating: Melissa Wood’s pilates and yoga flows have been giving my workouts new life. The workouts are short, sweet, and burn so good. It honestly felt like such an a-ha moment for me—realizing I can enjoy my workouts and feel reenergized by low-impact, intentional movement.

Coveting: I officially have spring fever. After finally pulling the trigger on these By Far sandals during the Shopbop sale, I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can wear them every single day. I’m also loving white high rise wide leg jeans, these easy crocodile heels, and I also can’t wait to start incorporating easy, feminine maxi dresses into my spring wardrobe.

And a few life updates for the month:

Zach and I have started looking for our first home together, it’s been a fun and eye-opening process so far. We haven’t found any real contenders yet, but my design wheels are officially spinning. I’ve been pinning interior and decor ideas like crazy lately. The hardest part so far has been the waiting! We’re being pretty picky with the location and what we want out of this house. So for now, I’ll be dreaming of light fixtures and upholstery and practicing patience until the right one presents itself.

I’m headed to Miami for a few days for work to shoot our Nickel & Suede summer lookbook. In case you don’t already know, I provide creative direction and style the shoots for each collection. It’s hard, but rewarding work! Thinking about putting more on the blog about what goes into the behind the scenes of these shoots, would you be interested?
