We’re so close to being able to spend our days outside! With the stay-at-home order, I’m aching for an additional living space. I can only hope that by May the weather will be more consistent in the midwest and we’ll be able to enjoy a lot of our time out by the lake.
I’ve been thinking a lot about morning coffee on the deck, clipping hydrangeas from the yard and arranging them for dinner al fresco, and planting an entire yard full of boxwoods and other greenery. I’m so inspired by English gardens lately. I plan to pull inspiration from them since our house is a tudor and lends itself to that aesthetic.
We moved into our home at the end of summer last year, so the outdoor spaces were kind of an after thought. I’m so excited to start working on the backyard this year and make it a place we can enjoy with our new babe in tow. I recently purchased this table and corresponding bench from World Market and LOVE the way it looks on our deck. It’s going to be able to seat up to 8 people and honestly looks so high end for the price. Their outdoor sale is still happening, by the way–40% off all outdoor furniture! Now I just need to find set of 4 chairs to go with. So far, I’m liking these arm chairs and these wicker ones best.
I’ve started following several outdoor/gardening accounts on Instagram, like Brooke from @velvetandlinen and Gina of @gncgarden and they fill my feed with so much joy and inspiration for the season to come. In May, I plan to pot boxwoods, flowers, and herbs for the backyard and deck and make it a magical place to spend our time.
Our outdoor space has been top of mind lately and I’ve sourced a ton of furniture, decor, and gardening essentials over the past few weeks. I hope this post helps you find inspiration for your own. xx
