I’ve read time and time again that creatives draw energy from their surroundings in which they work and it couldn’t be more true in my case. Since moving into my condo, my desk has been housed in an often overlooked corner of my bedroom. It mostly serves as catch-all for junk mail, dirty clothes, miscellaneous cords, you name it. I’ve maybe sat at the desk a total of 5 times in TWO YEARS. Working at home can be tricky. I’ve set up shop at my dining table, leaving little to no room for actual dining. And if I don’t feel like spending hours in a rigid dining chair, there’s a good possibility I wind up cross-legged on my couch in front of the TV, which means I’m distracted and work takes longer to wrap up.
I decided this year would be the year I create a space in my home that is strictly for work and make it a relaxing, beautiful place to get all the things done. I’m in the planning and sourcing stage of converting my second bedroom into and office, so I’ve gathered a collection of dreamy at-home workspaces as inspiration for my new space.
