Autumn clothes have a special place in my heart. Something about the coziness of the season makes getting dressed just a little more enjoyable, no?! There is a narrow window of time where sweater weather can be more fun than functional. That window falls around September-October, when you can start pulling them out of storage and wear them occasionally as it gets cooler in the evenings. The crisp air feels so nice and adding a few new layers and boots to your collection feels refreshing. And then, if you live in the midwest, around November the weather takes a turn for the worst and you’re forced to layer for legitimate warmth and not just to look good.
So, I’m all about functional pieces that do both. I bought this cardigan way too prematurely (like, August) and was so pumped to break it out on the first cool day. I’ve found that a few neutral cardigans and pullovers are a good mix to have on rotate throughout the season to layer over your tees, jeans, skirts etc.

Brands I love for great knits
I’ve found good quality sweaters at varying prices each year, but there are a few brands that consistently deliver the best options. Cuyana, Vince, Everlane, J.Crew, & Other Stories are just a few that have proven to last and hold their shape well. H&M has really been impressing me lately with their quality as well. Where do you shop for sweaters? Are there other brands I should know about?
P.S. In case you missed it, here’s my F/W 2018 boot guide.
